At Reuben Rink, we don’t specialize in particular industries. Instead, we enjoy the challenge of always learning something new. By working with a variety of clients, we find that we are often able to use insights gleaned from one industry to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas that otherwise may have been overlooked in a totally different arena. Our best work comes from client relationships developed over time that allow us to bring added value – often in unexpected ways. Following are several examples.
Working with Miracles in Sight, a global leader in eye banking, Reuben Rink recognized how CEO Dean Vavra’s personal, compelling life story related directly to the work done by MIS. We pitched his story selectively to local business media. As a result, two major papers ran front-page articles that brought our client a great deal of positive attention. Reuben Rink also worked with the Mayor’s office in Winston-Salem to declare March 2016 Eye Donor Month.
Capel Rugs wanted a new and innovative way to attract customers to their showroom at an important furniture market. We created The Uniquely Capel Experience, a program featuring on-site “perks” like a charging station and chair massages that offered buyers amenities that went beyond the expected product offerings. Program support included direct mail, trade print ads, email messaging, social media posts and press releases to create industry buzz and to urge attendees to schedule a meeting with a Capel sales rep at the show. Extending our messaging beyond product allowed Capel to engage buyers well before the show, before new product is available for review. While market-wide attendance was down 1%, attendance at Capel’s showroom was up 18%.
Lindsey Architecture, a prominent Greensboro architectural firm, needed a new website to showcase the firm’s extensive and growing work portfolio and to inform visitors about the firm’s culture and philosophy. We worked closely with the owner, Rod Lindsey, to create all content and to develop a site that tells their story in a way that reflects what makes Lindsey Architecture unique and aligns with the firm’s design sensibilities. You can see the results here.
Prinnovo®, a new enterprise that brings together breakthrough technology companies with established corporations seeking innovative solutions, faced the challenge of establishing an identity in the marketplace and delivering it to potential customers. Reuben Rink met this challenge by first creating a logo and tagline that quickly conveyed the essence of what Prinnovo does. We then created a responsive design website that defined their services while reflecting the type of cutting-edge practices that would be expected by their tech-savvy audiences.
Grayson National Bank found itself with an odd problem – a surplus of mint and proof coin sets they wanted to give away. The bank also wanted to get more reach through their Facebook page. We met both challenges by creating a simple Facebook contest that asked visitors to like a post to be eligible to “win some coin.” The result has been a sharp uptick in page views and likes as customers and other contacts enter and share the contest.
Pope Companies, a leading Triad commercial and residential developer, wanted to promote its residential properties – including a new upscale luxury townhome development, a for-lease townhome community in an established neighborhood and a suite of mobile home parks. Reuben Rink’s solution: a series of microsites. Uniquely different living experiences, audiences and features require different messaging vehicles. Our criteria when developing the microsites included:
Turnaround management firm Anderson Bauman Tourtellot Vos challenged us to develop a unique item for clients and business partners that would stand out in a flood of corporate holiday gifts. We came up with a hot idea — special blend coffees with memorable names and attractive packaging that could be customized to reflect their services. The solution worked so well that ABTV eventually produced three different blends.
An ongoing challenge of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce is to raise awareness of their services and attract new members. Believing that peer recommendations are an effective marketing tool, we helped create an ad campaign – outdoor, print and digital – that utilized member testimonials to tout the advantages of Chamber membership. This campaign supported an overall membership drive that resulted in over 300 new members.
Our challenge with Miracles In Sight (formerly the North Carolina Eye Bank) was to find a way to build awareness for the organization with the general public as well as with clinicians in a way that would resonate with both audiences. The solution was a dynamic brand video that conveys the breadth of their services, dedication and professionalism. The video plays multiple roles, being used on their social media channels, their website, at conferences and by field representatives when meeting with clients and prospects.
Reuben Rink partnered with Caudill’s, a leading local provider of electrical, security, home automation, and audio/video services, to update its website. The multi-generational, family-owned company, which has been in business 43 years, had outgrown its existing site. We collaborated with Caudill’s to develop an attractive, responsive site that conveys the company’s unique services and approach. You can see the new site here.
We worked with Forsyth Technical Community College to craft an ad that conveys the benefits of a degree using athletic imagery, a thematic approach appealing to those using the fitness center where the ad initially ran. The college liked the results so much that we began running the spot on local TV, and extended the campaign by adding two more spots that utilize themes of food and travel.
Each year the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce holds its Annual Meeting late in the year to review accomplishments from the previous 12 months and to look ahead. Asked to create a video that recapped the year in a fun and memorable way, we developed an entertaining and informative concept. The video was produced in collaboration with Out Of Our Minds Studios, a local animation partner.

We’re a small team with a big range of experience and talents. There’s not much we won’t take on to help a client reach their business goals.
At Reuben Rink, we understand the importance of supporting the communities where we live and work. Personally, our team regularly gives of their time and resources to serve others. Professionally, we know that many local nonprofit organizations have specific marketing needs that fall outside the range of their limited budgets. To help address these needs, we selectively conduct strategy workshops with nonprofits at no charge through our Community Giveback program. It’s simply our way of helping those in our community who are helping others.
